ABOUT ME
I’m a painter, illustrator, teacher and designer based in Toronto, Canada. I’ve always been a passionate lover of painting from a very young age. Drawing endless inspiration from flowers, nature, travel and the world around me.
I grew up in South Africa surrounded by colour, intense light and flowers everywhere. I studied with an artist who taught me the basics of which I still use and teach today.
My style is vibrant, playful and joyful. I find inspiration in travel, colour, exotic locations, textiles and the natural world.
Whether working in gouache, watercolour, pen and ink, pastel or collage, I try to master the technique, simplify and express the image in my own style staying true to me.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my love for painting through retreats and workshops across the globe, guiding artists of all levels to explore their creativity.
Now, I’m bringing this experience online, allowing you to learn at your own pace and from the comfort of your home.
COURSES CONTENT
In Flowers All Ways, I’ll guide you through my own unique approach to painting flowers. From single flowers simply to more full bouquets, imaginative garden landscapes, favourite colour combinations, painting on coloured paper, flower crowns, and so much more.
In Birds, Bugs & Butterflies, we’ll explore a range of styles and new mediums. We'll start with the basics, using colour blocking, layering, wet-on-wet, ink, and collage to create whimsical compositions that bring these creatures to life.
Together, we’ll explore my favourite materials, including brushes, paints and paper. We’ll learn about how I mix colour, use contrast, texture, layering and form. These courses are designed to nurture your own creativity and help you discover the joy of painting in your own style.
