I'm a painter and teacher based in Toronto. I grew up in South Africa, surrounded by colour, great light and nature all around. Great influences that shape my work today - the flowers, birds, landscapes and vibrant fruit markets. I now teach painting retreats across the globe, guiding artists at every level.

COURSE CONTENT
What's included
In Flowers All Ways, I guide you through my own unique approach from materials to colour mixing and simple single flowers. From there we go onto more complex bouquets, layering, favourite combinations, painting on coloured paper, flower crowns, gardens and lots more.
In Birds, Bugs and Butterflies, we explore a range of style and new mediums. We use watercolour and acryla gouache, simplifying our subjects with colour blocking, mark making, texture, ink and collage to create whimsical and fun compositions bringing our subjects to life.
In Fruit and Landscapes All Ways, we start simply with fruits in colours, fruit baskets, Apples and pears, collage bowls, veggies and even a fruit cake! We then go onto simple watercolour and abstract landscapes. Exploring painting on paper, canvas and wood. We use lots of mixed media to bring fresh, beautiful scenes to life.
Together we'll explore my favourite materials including brushes, paint and paper. We'll learn how I mix colour, use contrast, texture, layering, negative space and form. These courses are designed to nurture your own creativity and help you discover the joy of painting in your own style.
